Well there sure has been a lot of change around here lately. I figure it's as good a time as any to clean up this page. I've got a lot to write about- a new apartment, a new outlook on life, and a whole lot that I can't even talk about. How exciting it is to have secrets! I've always lived out in the open, telling my tales to anyone who'll listen. Keeping my mouth shut is a new experience.
Stuff I can talk about include a new film script. I've never really worked in the short form before, and I'm excited about the challenges. There's no room for fat on the script at all. Not a whole lot of room for subtlety, either. It's an excuse to go wild for 10-20 pages.
Movies watched today: Rashomon and Nine Queens. Nine Queens is a relatively new scam movie coming out of Argentina, and it's one of the reasons I really have to stay more on top of my Netflix list. The twists are fresh, the characters fully-realized and original and even when I thought I had it all figured out, it would go two steps further. Well-acted and well-shot, it was a treat to watch.
Rashomon is, well, Rahomon. I think the biggest surprise I had while watching this movie for the n'th time is how well it holds up after all these years. The story is still shocking, the images still haunting. Sometimes I think every story told on screen should be told during a torrential rainstorm.
